News & Updates Archive Notice of Public Meeting Goforth Special Utility District is holding a public meeting to receive customer input and ideas on Goforth's new proposed Water Conservation Policy. The public meeting will be held on July 21, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at Goforth's office located at 8900 Niederwald Strasse, Niederwald, TX 78640. Goforth's proposed Water Conservation Policy is designed to prevent the waste of water, promote the efficient use of water by Goforth's customers, and to ensure a safe and adequate freshwater supply. Violations of the Policy would be subject to enforcement, including a warning for a first violation and monetary penalties for any subsequent violations. Water conservation has several benefits for our customers. Each customer's lower water use translates into a lower water bill, but it also benefits the entire Goforth system by reducing the need to incur the high infrastructure costs associated with building new water supply projects and purifying and pumping that water into our system. The Water Conservation Policy can be reviewed and copied at Goforth's office during normal business hours, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. For ideas on incorporating water conservation measures, we're providing you a copy of Water Conserving Tips prepared by the Texas Water Development Board. We hope you will attend the public meeting. If you are unable to attend, you may submit written comments to Goforth at our office prior to the meeting. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (512) 376-5695. |
