About Us

Goforth Special Utility District (SUD) is a political Subdivision of the State of Texas, specifically a conservation and reclamation district pursuant to Article XVI, Section 59 of the Texas State Constitution.

A Special Utility District has the ability to provide water and sewer services, and may have certain other powers. A SUD does not levy or impose taxes, but may issue bonds. Goforth SUD services 6,444 water customers to date; spanning Hays, Caldwell and Travis counties. Citizens within Goforth's service area may vote in elections, and may be eligible to serve on the SUD Board of Directors.

Goforth sources water from a combination of ground and surface water sources, and provides yearly reports regarding the quality of the water provided.
